What are the responsibilities of A-1's Workers' Compensation Department?

A-1's Workers' Compensation Department files each claim with the insurance carrier. A-1 endeavors to provide the injured employee proper medical treatment . A-1 tracks the employee's recovery so he/she can return to work as soon as possible.


What are the client's responsibilities if there is an injury?

The client must report the claim immediately and fill out A-1's Workers' Compensation Injury Report. Injury kits are provided to each client location. Upon receipt of the proper paperwork, the claim is filed with the insurance carrier. If an accident occurs after hours or on a weekend, the employee should be sent to the nearest emergency facility. Complete and send the proper paperwork the next working day.


How does A-1 lower the cost of my workers' compensation insurance?

A-1 has thousands of employees and as such, purchases workers' compensation insurance in bulk thru a special program and passes the economies of scale onto it's clients.


How long does it take A-1 to report a claim?

A-1 endeavors to file a workers' compensation injury report the same day that we receive proper notification of the injury.


Will A-1 notify my current Workers' Compensation Carrier of the changeover of insurance?

No, the client would have to give its Workers' Compensation Carrier notice. A-1 notifies the State in which you are operating of the change of workers' comp coverage and the effective date such change..


How do I get certificates of insurance issued to show proof of workers' compensation coverage?

Call, fax or email A-1 and provide the name, address and fax number of those entities requiring the certificates. The certificates will be issued and you will be sent a copy. Turnaround time is usually less than twenty-four hours.
