A PEO provides personnel administrative outsourcing to its clients. The client company is the worksite employer and bears the responsibility and liability associated with managing worksite employees. The PEO is the administrative employer responsible for maintaining personnel records and the payment of wages and taxes. Human resource services, employee benefits, government compliance services, safety consulting and workers’ compensation are typically provided as additional benefits and services.
